Caesars Interactive Entertainment acquired Bingo Blitz, a social and mobile gaming business, as well as privately held Buffalo Studios, LLC, of Santa Monica, Calif., a social and mobile games developer.
The purchase price was not disclosed.
The acquisition, which was announced last Thursday, is the second recent deal by Caesar Interactive in the social games space. In 2011 the company, which is the interactive subsidiary of casino operator Caesars Entertainment Corp., bought Playtika.
Caesars Interactive also operates the World Series of Poker and legal online gaming websites in Europe and the United Kingdom.
“The Bingo Blitz business represents a unique opportunity for Caesars Interactive to add to our portfolio of social and mobile game assets and to grow our market share across all interactive platforms,” Caesars Interactive Chief Executive Officer Mitch Garber said in a statement.
Buffalo Studios created Bingo Blitz, which is among the leading bingo games on Facebook and other social gaming websites.
Caesars Interactive will retain 74 full-time employees at Buffalo Studios and begin to integrate Bingo Blitz and Bingo Rush into an affiliate of its Playtika subsidiary.
Bingo Blitz was launched in 2010 as one of the first social bingo applications. It features over 710,000 daily users and 2.7 million monthly active users, according to the latest figures from AppData.
