UNLV women’s tennis falls to Fresno State

The UNLV women’s tennis team lost to Fresno State 5-2 in consolation play Monday at the ITA Kick-Off Weekend tournament in Berkeley, Calif. The Bulldogs took two of three doubles matches for the first point, then won four of six in singles.

Aleksandra Josifoska (No. 1) and Lucia Batta (No. 2) notched wins for the Rebels.

■ FOOTBALL – Tight end Antonio Zepeda (6 feet 6 inches, 240 pounds) of Camelback High School in Phoenix committed to play football at UNLV, according to Rivals.com. He reportedly also visited Northern Arizona and had scholarship offers from NAU and Montana.

Running back Kani Benoit (5-11, 205) of Thunderbird High in Phoenix did not visit California this past weekend and remains a UNLV commitment. Scout.com rates him as a three-star recruit and the nation’s No. 103 back.
