Man killed in motorcycle accident

A 26-year-old man was killed after his motorcycle collided with the back of a vehicle early Tuesday morning.

According to Las Vegas police, the man, driving a 2008 Suzuki motorcycle, was traveling eastbound on Ann Road near Blooming Street and was changing lanes when he crashed into the left rear of a 1999 Honda Accord, which was also traveling eastbound, at 1:45 a.m.

The driver of the motorcycle was thrown off his vehicle because of the impact. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Accord suffered no injuries.

Police said that they think that excessive speed was a factor in the collision.

It was the 27th traffic-related fatality in the Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction in 2013.
