Jones’ bat, Richy’s arm power UNLV baseball to sweep of UNR

Justin Jones went 3-for-4 and drove in three runs as the UNLV baseball team pounded UNR 15-1 on Sunday in Reno. The Rebels (34-17, 16-11 Mountain West) completed a sweep of the three-game series with the Wolf Pack (24-27, 11-16) and posted their largest margin of victory over UNR since 1980.

John Richy (6-4) held the Wolf Pack to one run through eight innings and struck out seven. Brayden Torres struck out two of the three batters he faced in the ninth inning to preserve the victory.

UNLV concludes the regular season with a three-game series at Air Force beginning Thursday afternoon.
