Bail $717K for man held in Nevada wedding reception shooting

PAHRUMP — Bail was set at $717,000 cash for a 49-year-old Las Vegas man accused of shooting and wounding two people during a wedding reception in rural Pahrump over the weekend.

Pahrump Justice of the Peace Kent Jasperson on Wednesday gave prosecutors until Monday to file a complaint against Angel Meraz-Salcido.

One of his defense lawyers, Daniel Page, says it’s too early to comment about the case.

Nye County sheriff’s Sgt. David Boruchowitz said Meraz-Salcido is accused of shooting one man in the face and another in the foot a little before midnight Saturday.

Both wounded men were hospitalized, he said. The bride and groom weren’t injured.

Boruchowitz said Meraz-Salcido is being held on attempted murder and other charges including battery with a weapon causing substantial injury, endangerment and mayhem.
