Friday fundraiser to help needy vets

The local nonprofit Catholic War Veterans will hold its gala dinner Friday to raise money to help needy veterans and their families with food, rent, utilities, transportation and clothing.

The dinner, along with a silent auction and raffle, will be from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday at the Suncoast Grand Ballroom, 9090 Alta Dr.

“A percentage of the funds will also be used to help fund the building of the Fisher House,” which will provide lodging for families of wounded veterans and others recovering from illnesses at the VA Medical Center in North Las Vegas, said Jim McCawley, commander of Catholic War Veterans Post 1947.

Tickets for the semi-formal affair are available for a $100 donation per person. Table sponsorships are available for $1,000 to $10,000 donations. They can be purchased online at www.cvnc-foundation.org by going to “Events” and scrolling to the bottom of the page.

Donations by check should be made payable to CVNCF VCAP and sent to CVNCF VCAP, 6955 S. Durango Road, 1115-252, Las Vegas, NV 89149. Tickets can be mailed or picked up at the event.

The CVNCF Veterans Assistance Care Program is a qualified, tax-exempt entity.
