Female passenger killed in Saturday crash ID’d

The woman who died Saturday morning after the car she was riding in crashed into a pole has been identified by the Clark County coroner’s office.

Iveth Cruz, 19, was in one of two cars speeding on Maryland Parkway that lost control just after midnight.

One car slid into a median and then smashed into a light pole. Cruz, a North Las Vegas resident, was a passenger in that car and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other vehicle spun into the median but didn’t hit the pole. The 17-year-old driver was arrested. Background information for this story can be found here.
