Motorcyclist dies in hit-and-run accident Thursday night

A hit-and-run accident between a car and a motorcycle in northeast Las Vegas Thursday night left one person dead.

A 24-year-old motorcyclist was killed after striking a 1997 Toyota Corolla that failed to stop at a red light about 10 p.m. at the intersection of Lamb Boulevard and Alexander Road.

The driver of the Toyota left the scene of the accident. Police located the unoccupied car shortly after the accident about a half mile from the scene. The collision caused moderate to major damage to the vehicle.

This is the 79th traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction.
