Help! Visitors authority looking for Beatlemania memories

Remember Las Vegas’ Beatlemania moment?

In celebration of the 50th anniversary of The Beatles performing in Las Vegas, the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority is looking for locals who have a great story about when Beatlemania swept through Las Vegas. The original Fab Four played for about 16,000 people during two sold-out shows at the Las Vegas Convention Center on Aug. 20, 1964, their one and only Las Vegas stop.

The British rock band landed at what is now known as McCarran International Airport, to thousands of screaming fans and made their way to the Sahara where they stayed the night before their concerts.

The visitors authority is asking for help from people who witnessed this historic event either by attending the concert, working at the airport or Sahara or lining the streets as the band drove by.
