Pedestrian struck by car on southwest side of Las Vegas Valley

A man was taken to the hospital after being hit by a car Monday morning on the southwest side of the Las Vegas Valley.

Las Vegas police responded to the intersection of Warm Springs Road and Durango Drive just after 10 a.m.

A man had been hit by a vehicle and sustained what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries, police spokeswoman Laura Meltzer said.

He was transported to University Medical Center. The driver of the vehicle that hit him remained on the scene, Meltzer said.

The southbound lanes of Durango Drive were blocked, but at 10:45 a.m. Meltzer said they were almost ready to be re-opened.
