Cantor Gaming changes its name to CG Technology

Cantor Gaming, a technology and sports book company, is changing its name to CG Technology and expects to seek an initial public offering in the future, the Las Vegas-based company announced Monday.

In a statement, the company said the new identity reflects its position as a technology firm offering mobile casino gaming and race and sports book products and services.

CG Technology, which arrived in Las Vegas in 2009, said its business has doubled over the last two years, and the company now estimates it now has more than 30 percent of the Nevada sports wagering business and process over 50 percent of technology-based wagers.

Lee Amaitis, president and CEO of CG Technology, was unavailable for comment Monday. The company also did not release a date for its IPO.

CG Technology, which operates eight race and sports books and a poker room in Southern Nevada, is an affiliate of New York-based financial services firm Cantor Fitzgerald L.P.

The bookmaker also built and leased its technology to the race and sports book at The Atlantis in Nassau, Bahamas. CG Technology also provides online casino and sports book content to Bally Technologies and recently opened the Cantor Club in Tianjin, China.
