As its first season concludes (10 p.m. Tuesday, FX), the Coen-esque thriller has showcased a competition between Billy Bob Thornton’s Lorne Malvo and Martin Freeman’s Lester Nygaard to see who can remain the most likable while committing the most despicable acts.
