2 critically injured in southeast Las Vegas Valley pileup

At least two people were injured in a seven-vehicle pileup Tuesday morning in the southeast valley.

Las Vegas police responded about 8:20 a.m. to a crash near Mountain Vista Street and East Russell Road.

Two people were transported to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center with critical injuries, police said.

Police believe alcohol might have been a factor in the crash.

Tow trucks were en route about 10 a.m. and Mountain Vista remained partially closed at 10:30 a.m. while police investigated the crash, according to police spokesman Larry Hadfield.

Avoid the area if possible.
