Las Vegas police ask for public’s help to find suspect in 2 business robberies

Las Vegas police are asking for the public’s help in finding a man who they say robbed two business locations Monday morning.

About 1 a.m., a man entered a bar in the area of North Jones and West Lake Mead boulevards, police said. He was armed with a semi-automatic handgun and approached the bartender, demanding cash from the register and safe.

Police said he escaped with money from the cash register.

Later in the day, about 11:30 a.m., the man entered a bank near South Durango Drive and West Sunset Road, police said.

Again, armed with a black semi-automatic handgun, he ordered everyone to lie down and robbed two bank tellers of their tills.

The man is described as black, possibly in his mid-30s, about 6 feet tall, police said. He was wearing a black baseball cap with white lettering, a black covering over his face and head, sunglasses, black long-sleeved shirt under a gray T-shirt, blue jeans and gloves.

Anyone with information is urged to call the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Robbery Section at 702-828-3855 or to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
