215 Beltway reopens after crash

Eastbound 215 Beltway has reopened about five hours after a Tuesday morning semitrailer crash closed all three lanes of traffic.

Nevada Highway Patrol responded at 4:20 a.m. to the Beltway between Stephanie Street and Gibson Road where the truck had hit a center median and jackknifed, blocking the eastbound lanes and spilling fuel onto the road.

Three non-injury accidents resulted from the crash, but the Beltway was closed so that crews could clean 100 gallons of diesel from the road, according to NHP’s Trooper Jeremie Elliott.

NHP tweeted that one lane was reopened about 8:30 a.m. and all travel lanes were open by about 10 a.m., Elliott said.
