The Clark County coroner’s office has identified the two men killed in Sunday morning’s crash on U.S. Highway 95 near Corn Creek, just north of Las Vegas.
Gil Rodriguez Gil, 29, of Henderson, and Jacob Ryan Baker, 28, of Las Vegas, died on the highway near mile marker 98. The cause and manner of death for both men are still pending. It is still unknown which man was driving either car.
The accident happened just after 7 a.m. when a man driving a silver Acura was going the wrong way in northbound lanes and collided with a Subaru driven by the other man, according to Nevada Highway Patrol trooper Jeremie Elliott. Both men died at the scene.
NHP is still investigating the crash, but witnesses said the Acura driver was intentionally driving in the wrong direction, trying to kill himself.
