WSOF 12 Preliminary Card Announced

Seven of the eight fighters scheduled for the preliminary card of the World Series of Fighting event on Aug. 9 at Hard Rock Hotel are Las Vegans.

The one who is not, lightweight Lucas Montoya, hails from Layton Utah. Montoya will face Jimmy Spicuzza in the final bout of the WSOF 12 preliminary card, which will stream live on NBCSports.com.

Spicuzza, who trains at Robert Drysdale’s gym on Rainbow, is 4-0 as a pro. His record includes two victories on WSOF cards.

The other three preliminary card bout all feature locals matched against one another.

Danny Davis Jr. will take on Jorge Lopez in a welterweight contest. Davis is riding a three-fight winning streak, including a decision victory over Phil Dace at WSOF 9 in March.

Bantamweight Adam Acquaviva will face Cody Maltais and Bryson Gutches will take on Soslan Abanokov in a featherweight bout.

The five main card bouts for WSOF 12, including a main event lightweight bout between Luis Palomino and Lewis Gonzalez, had already been announced. The main card will air on NBC Sports Network.
