Car crash blocking McCarran passenger pickup cleared

A car crash at McCarran International Airport closed the first floor of passenger pickup at Terminal 1 for over an hour Thursday, airport officials say.

The crash happened just before 4 p.m. and while it was being cleared, access to passenger pickup was blocked.

Passengers and arriving vehicles were rerouted one floor up to short-term parking, which was still operational, airport spokeswoman Christine Crews said.

Airport workers were directing traffic to help the traffic flow more smoothly. The crash was cleared at about 5:30 p.m. and traffic returned to normal.
