Kennedy to meet Romero at UFC 178

A middleweight bout between Tim Kennedy and Yoel Romero has been added to the Ultimate FIghting Championship card scheduled for Sept. 27 in Las Vegas, the organization confirmed Tuesday morning.

UFC 178 will be headlined by a light heavyweight title rematch between Alexander Gustafsson and champion Jon Jones. The organization has yet to announce a venue for the event.

Kennedy has won four straight fights, including three since coming over to the UFC from Strikeforce. His only two losses of his last 12 fights came in unsuccessful bids for the Strikeforce middleweight title.

Romero is 4-0 with three knockouts since dropping to middleweight for his UFC debut. He won the silver medal in freestyle wrestling at the 2000 Olympics and took gold at the 1999 world championships, representing Cuba.
