Pedestrian injured in North Las Vegas crash

North Las Vegas police are investigating a crash that sent a pedestrian to the hospital with life-threatening injuries Thursday night.

North Las Vegas police spokeswoman Chrissie Coon said officers were dispatched to the intersection of Lake Mead Boulevard and 5th Street about 8:35 p.m.

A man was struck by a sedan and sent to University Medical Center with injuries Coon described as extremely critical.

The 25-year-old woman driving the sedan stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, Coon said.

Police are investigating to determine if the man was in a crosswalk and if speed or alcohol were factors in the crash.
