The Department of Veterans Affairs will build an outpatient clinic in Pahrump, members of Nevada’s congressional delegation said Tuesday.
New VA Secretary Robert McDonald “has signed off on relevant paperwork to permit construction” of a community-based outpatient clinic in Pahrump for veterans, according a joint statement from U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., and Rep. Steven Horsford, D-Nev.
“For far too long, this issue was mired in bureaucratic muck,” said Horsford. “All we needed to move forward was a signature on a piece of paper.”
Sen. Dean Heller, R-Nev., a member of the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee, also weighed in with a statement, saying, “Pahrump veterans have fought … too long for this clinic to be built, and with this good news, (they) will soon have better access to the care they deserve.”
