Cold front to hit Vegas Friday night

Put away your summer wear and prepare your heaters, Las Vegas. Temperatures are expected to significantly drop during your Nevada Day and Halloween festivities, the National Weather Service said.

A cold front is expected to reach the valley late Friday night, dropping temperatures below 60 degrees, meteorologist Chris Outler said.

Lows during the weekend are expected to dip below the 50s, according to the weather service.

After Friday and into early next week, the highs will remain in the 60s and 70s, more typical than the above-80-degrees weather the valley experienced throughout October, Outler said.

Temperatures on Thursday were expected to reach 80 degrees. This could be one of the last times it does for the remainder of the year, Outler said.
