Man shot in northwest valley

A man was hospitalized Wednesday after being shot in the northwest valley, Las Vegas police said.

Just before 8 p.m., police were called to the 2000 block of Winwood Street, near Jones and Lake Mead boulevards. Upon arrival, officers found the wounded man.

He was taken to University Medical Center with injuries that were not life-threatening, Lt. Joe Martin said.

Investigators had not taken anyone into custody as of 9:30 p.m.
