Henderson PD closes Via Firenze to traffic to serve warrant

Henderson police closed a residential street near the intersection of Volunteer Boulevard and Sun City Anthem Drive on Tuesday night while they tried to serve an arrest warrant.

Officers were announcing themselves to occupants at 1886 Via Firenze about 8:40 p.m. and asking them to come to the front door of the home with nothing in their hands. Police blocked vehicles from the road while they tried to negotiate.

It is unclear what the arrest warrant is for or why no one would exit the home, only that no one was opening the door to police, Henderson spokeswoman Kathleen Richards said.
