Child struck by car received only minor injuries, police say

A child that was hit by a car Wednesday near Downtown Las Vegas suffered only minor injuries, Las Vegas police said.

The crash occurred at 12:55 p.m. near the intersection of Bonneville Avenue and Maryland Parkway.

The report initially came to police as a hit and run, but officer Laura Meltzer later said the vehicle did remain on scene.

The child was not taken to a hospital.
