Henderson police probe death of man found in homeless encampment

Henderson police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found Thursday night in a desert area near Lake Mead Parkway and Warm Springs Road.

The body was found by two men at a homeless encampment at about 7:30 p.m., and police suspect he died from blunt force trauma. The 44-year-old man who died and the two men who found him had been staying at the encampment.

This is the fourth homicide in Henderson for 2014. The Clark County coroner’s office will release the man’s identity once his next of kin have been notified.
