Ex-UNLV golfer Koelbaek earns LPGA tour card

Former UNLV golfer Therese Koelbaek earned her tour card on Sunday with an 11th place finish in the LPGA Qualifying Tournament in Daytona Beach, Fla.

Koelbaek, a native of Denmark, played at UNLV from 2007-11 and was Mountain West golfer of the year and the conference’s top scholar athlete in 2011. She becomes the third former Rebel to earn her LPGA card, following Hwanhee Lee and Sunny Oh.

“It’s just awesome,” Koelbaek told LPGA.com. “It’s not digesting yet. I’m trying to stay calm but it’s going to be insane. I can’t even believe it, I’m an LPGA member.”
