Henderson teen dies after skateboarding crash

A Henderson teenager died after hurting his head in a skateboarding crash Sunday, Henderson police reported.

Michael Vaughn, 16, was skateboarding in a concrete wash near Horizon Ridge Parkway and Horizon Drive when he fell at about 4 p.m. and hit his head, Henderson police spokeswoman Kathleen Richards said. He was wearing a helmet.

The Foothill High School sophomore was pronounced dead at St. Rose Dominican Hospital, Rose de Lima campus. The coroner’s office reported his official cause of death as blunt head trauma.
