Updated January 15, 2025 - 12:01 pm

A driver fleeing a Metropolitan Police Department officer fatally crashed into a cyclist Wednesday morning in the northeast Las Vegas Valley, Deputy Chief Branden Clarkson said.

The driver also hit another car, the driver of that car was transported to the hospital for minor injuries, Clarkson said.

The crash occurred after a police officer attempted to make a vehicle stop of the driver at Charleston and North Lamb. The car sped off to North Lamb Boulevard and Stewart Avenue, where it struck the cyclist, who crashed into a wall and was pronounced dead at the scene.
