Updated December 23, 2024 - 10:50 am

Police are investigating a shooting death Monday morning at a house party in the southwest Las Vegas Valley.

The call came in just before 10:55 p.m. Sunday in the 3100 block of Cipro Avenue, near Dean Martin Drive and West Starr Avenue, according to Lt. Patrick Hughes of the Metropolitan Police Department.

Arriving officers found a man in the backyard of a residence suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Medical personnel responded and pronounced him dead at the scene.

Police say the victim was involved in an argument in the backyard when the person with whom the victim was arguing pulled out a gun and fired. The suspect fled before officers arrived.

The identification of the victim, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County coroner’s office.
