High temperatures coming back to the Las Vegas Valley
Get ready, Las Vegas’ triple-digit weather is making its way back into the valley.
The National Weather Service predicts a gradual warming trend in the next several days.
And it’ll be the “dry” kind of heat.
Meteorologist Chad Shafer said the valley will be unusually dry for this time of year, but temperatures will be at or slightly below the norm for this time of year.
Monday should warm up to about 103 degrees during the afternoon before temperatures drop to about 82, Shafer said. Las Vegans can expect breezy afternoons and evenings all week.
Tuesday and Wednesday will see highs about 103 and 104, respectively, Shafer said. Nighttime lows should drop to the low 80s and upper 70s.
The valley will just start to reach its normal temperature of about 105 degrees during the course of the week, marking Thursday with the 105 degree high.
Friday is expected to drop a few degrees lower to high temps about 103 and a low of 82 at night. An early reading of the forecast by the weather service said Saturday’s high could be 97 degrees with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms.
The possibility for moisture will come from remnants of Tropical Storm Dolores, which is brewing in the eastern Pacific, Shafer said, but weather models into the weekend are still uncertain.
