Summer nails to match your resort wear

Tangerine nights:

For the more daring, crimson is the white T-shirt of the lacquer/polish collection. In summer, consider shifting from the cool reds and burgundies to a warmer shade. Red-orange shades will bring out the gold tone of your tanned skin as well as drag attention to your summer sandals. A good choice is Marc Jacob’s Lola. Price Point: $18.

Sand whites:

A white opaque polish will forever be summer’s favorite. It pops with your tan skin and goes with everything day and night. Be careful with the brand you choose, though, because some will turn yellow at the edges with the residue of the tanning oil. A good choice is RGB’s bright white polish. It will instantly make your tanned skin look alive, and the best part is it refuses to turn yellow with time. Prince point: $18

Deep blue sea:

Use a royal blue for a more daring and decorative look. With a blue tip or décor, your nails will scream summer and pop the base color. A good choice would be Bouncer from Essie. Price point: $8

Coral sea:

Pink-red smoothie-looking polish. It’s been around for a long time. Coral shades are not only loved by all ages, they go with all age ranges. Summer is the perfect time to give this shade the prominence it deserves and understand that older ladies might understand something about this shade that the rest of us don’t. This is the perfect opportunity to show off a perfect manicure in a milky-pinky shade. Our coral recommendation is Corail Colisée from Yves Saint Laurent. Price Point: 27.

Tan is part of summer:

For the more conservative who prefer to stay safe with a neutral/tan manicure rather than go bold with a brighter shade, Yummy Mummy from Butter London is a perfect pick for the hot months ahead. Price point: $15

Pink is a must:

Girly and flirty, a bright pop-art pink is a must-have for a playful summer manicure. Match your nails with your resort wear and swim attire for a more tropical look. A good choice to enhance your beach wardrobe is Chanel Pink Tonic. Price point: $27

Surrealistic violet:

Don’t play safe. Seek infectious grooves and pump up the volume with a neon plum nail polish that gets everyone on their feet. Consider changing lanes with a hue on the other side of the spectrum. A good choice is DJ Play that Song from Essie. Price point: $8.00
