Another Rutgers football player dismissed from team following arrest

Rutgers dismissed a sixth football player from the football program on Thursday after a series of home invasions resulted in assault charges.

Redshirt sophomore fullback Lloyd Terry was charged with armed robbery, armed burglary and conspiracy to commit the armed robbery, NJ.com reported Thursday.

Terry was being held at the Middlesex County Adult Corrections Cetner in North Brunswick, N.J. Bail was set at $175,000.

The school confirmed that Terry was immediately removed from the team. His suspension followed those of cornerback Dre Boggs, free safety Delon Stephenson, cornerback Ruhann Peele, fullback Razohnn Gross and defensive back Nadir Barnwell just before Saturday’s season opener against Norfolk State.

NJ.com reported that Terry, Boggs and former Rutgers wide receiver/cornerback Tejay Johnson were the three masked men involved in holdup of students at gunpoint in April in Brunswick, N.J., for cash and marijuana.

The former Rutgers players are linked to three home invasions and violent actions during April and May.

Terry, a walk-on played in only one game — the Quick Lane Bowl — during three years at Rutgers.

The Scarlet Knights (1-0) remain at home this week to face Washington State (0-1).
