Sunshine, triple digits return to Las Vegas Valley after storm
You can seen clearly now, the rain is gone.
A bright sunshiny day greeted Las Vegas on Wednesday, and the valley was given a break from troublesome monsoon thunderstorms and the extreme heat we never seem to get used to.
It’s true that warmer temperatures came back with the sun — Wednesday’s high peaked at 100 degrees — but the valley will be slightly cooler heading into the weekend. Expect spring-like highs later in the week, at least by Vegas standards.
Temperatures will drop significantly to 10 degrees below normal — predicted at 94 degrees — as a system more typical for wintertime moves in from the Pacific Ocean on Thursday evening, National Weather Service meteorologist Chris Outler said. Thursday and Friday should see temperatures in the mid-to-low 90s,
That’s when the chance for rain re-enters the forecast, but only at 20 percent. By the weekend, Las Vegas should return to a slow simmer as highs climb back into the normal 100s, Outler predicts.
Breezes from 15 to 25 miles-per-hour will be blowing Thursday, but thanks to recent rains, there will be a minimal threat of pesky dust.
