Here are the street closures planned for Las Vegas Pride Night Parade
September 16, 2015 - 7:40 pm
Several downtown streets will be closed Friday afternoon and evening for the 17th annual Las Vegas Pride Night Parade.
The parade begins at 8 p.m., but several streets will begin closing at 3 p.m., for preparations and staging.
Parade entries will follow the city’s traditional parade route of Fourth Street north between Gass and Ogden avenues and city officials expect the route to be closed through 11 p.m.
Five parade staging areas will close streets prior to the parade and the first closures are expected to be on Carson and Bridger avenues between Las Vegas Boulevard and Third Street beginning at 3.
Parade staging areas on Fourth Street south of Charleston Boulevard; Coolidge, Hoover and Gass avenues between Fourth Street and Casino Center Boulevard; and Third Street between Charleston and Garces Avenue will result in closures around 7 p.m.
The Pride Parade, an annual celebration of the Southern Nevada’s gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community, is sponsored by MGM Resorts International.
Organizers are encouraging people attending the event to park at downtown public parking locations and metered street parking zones. Rules vary, with fees required at some locations through 6 p.m. and others through 10 p.m.
