Valley expected to cool down this week

Las Vegans got a treat this Halloween: calm, cool, clear weather.
Saturday was a “beautiful day,” National Weather Service meteorologist John Adair. Temperatures didn’t rise above 80 degrees, which is 6 degrees above normal, he said.
Sunday could see a few clouds roll in, but there’s virtually no chance for rain and still not a lot of wind expected, meteorologist Caleb Steele said. Highs are forecast to reach 78 in the afternoon before falling to 57 overnight.
Winds are expected to pick back up Monday. High temperatures will peak about 77 that afternoon and wind speeds are expected to be about 20 mph with gusts 30 to 40 mph.
The Weather Service forecasts a slight chance for rain after 4 p.m. Monday, Steele said, but showers will stay mostly to the north of the valley. Nighttime temperatures should drop to 53 degrees that night.
A “big change” — a cold front — will move in as early as Wednesday, Adair said. High temperatures will drop to about 60 degrees with lows in the mid-40s.
