Man fatally shot by another man in West Las Vegas

Updated April 28, 2023 - 1:29 pm

Las Vegas police are considering a homicide Wednesday night in west Las Vegas as possible self defense.

At around 6:40 p.m. a man was found fatally shot in the driveway of a home in the 1100 block of Comstock Drive, near West Washington Avenue. A man in his 20s was standing next to the shooting victim and told police that he had shot the other man, Metropolitan Police Department Lt. Jason Johansson said at the scene.

He said that the man was taken into custody and that both men knew each other.

“Our understanding is they were having an ongoing argument about some type of transaction,” Johansson said.

A fight between the two men had escalated when the man in his 20s pulled out a firearm and shot the other man, according to Johansson.

In a statement Friday, police said the case was submitted to the Clark County district attorney’s office to rule on possible self defense.

The Clark County coroner’s office identified the person who was killed as 28-year-old Adrian Lamont Huling II, of Las Vegas. He died from multiple gunshot wounds.

Police had not identified the shooter as of Friday.
