Wednesday’s temperatures broke 58-year record — PHOTOS
The snow and record-breaking temperatures and rainfall are over in Las Vegas — at least for this week.
Wednesday’s weather broke two daily records in Las Vegas, according to the National Weather Service.
For Nov. 4, the record lowest high temperature is now 55 degrees, which broke the prior record of 56 degrees, set in 1957.
And the record for daily rainfall is now 0.19 inches, nearly quadruple the prior record of .04, set in 2011.
McCarran International Airport, the Weather Service’s official monitoring site for the valley, has seen about an inch more than normal of rain, 4.43 inches, year to date.
That weather is in the past, though, says meteorologist Justin Pullin.
“It’s going to be warmer and quite a bit nicer than yesterday,” he said Thursday.
The forecast high today is 60 degrees. The low is 44.
By the end of the weekend, temperatures will climb back up into the high-60s.
The expected warm, sunny days will melt most of the 13 inches of snow that fell on parts of Kyle Canyon over the week, Pullin said.
Four inches of snow fell at the fire station on Mount Charleston, about 7,000 feet above sea-level.
“Most of it will end up melting,” Pullin explained.
