Updated October 13, 2022 - 11:17 am

A Las Vegas man riding a motorcycle was killed in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon.

The crash occurred around 4:10 p.m. on South Eastern Avenue, north of East Reno Avenue, near East Tropicana Avenue.

The rider was on a 2022 Suzuki GSX-R600 headed south on Eastern Avenue toward a private driveway. A collision occurred when the driver of a 2009 Mercury Milan failed to yield to the motorcycle as the car turned left out of the driveway into the motorcycle’s path, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

The Clark County coroner’s office confirmed Jose Patricio-Chavez, 32, was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center where he died.

The driver of the Mercury remained at the scene and did not show signs of impairment, police said.
