Worker dies after being injured at Henderson business

An employee of a Henderson business died after being injured Thursday night, police said.

Police responded to the 100 block of North Water Street at 5:11 p.m. for an injured employee. The employee was taken to a local hospital, where the employee later died, according to Metropolitan Police Department Lt. Justin Byers.

The Clark County coroner’s office identified the man as Rodney Payne, 61, of Powell, Wyoming. His cause and manner of death were pending Friday.

The Nevada State Occupational Safety and Health Administration confirmed on Friday that the agency was investigating the death but declined to provide further information, citing an open investigation.
