Recker homers twice, powers 51s to 7-1 win over River Cats

Anthony Recker went 4-for-4 with two of the 51s’ four home runs Saturday to lead Las Vegas to a 7-1 win over the Sacramento River Cats in a Pacific Coast League game at Cashman Field.
Recker hit a two-run shot in the fourth inning and a leadoff blast in the seventh and scored three runs as the 51s (44-32) won their third straight and 13th in the past 16 games.
Starter Darin Gorski (5-6) held Sacramento (32-44) to one run on five hits and three walks and struck out four in 5 2/3 innings. The River Cats went 0-for-7 with runners in scoring position and stranded 11 runners to Las Vegas’ three.
After Recker hit a two-out single in the second inning, Cory Vaughn put the 51s ahead to stay with a two-run homer.
Travis Taijeron padded the lead in the fourth with an RBI triple, and Recker followed with his first homer of the night.
T.J. Rivera hit his first homer of the season in Las Vegas’ two-run seventh to cap the scoring.
Darren Ford hit a solo homer in the fifth inning and a leadoff triple in the ninth, and Hector Sanchez went 3-for-4 with a double for Sacramento.
