Crash injures moped rider near Grand Teton, Cimarron

A moped rider was in critical condition after colliding with a vehicle in the northwest valley late Monday night.

All four directions were closed to traffic at Grand Teton Drive and North Cimarron Road intersection while officers investigated.

Police said a man on a moped collided with a turning vehicle near shortly before 9:30 p.m.

The man on the moped, described in his 20s, went into cardiac arrest after the crash. Citizens on the scene administered CPR before he was taken to University Medical Center with extensive head injuries, according to Metro supervisor Lt. Dave Valenta.

It wasn’t immediately clear who was at fault in the crash, but detectives with Metro’s Accident Investigation Section have been called to the scene.
