Security searching Naval Medical Center in San Diego after gunman reported

SAN DIEGO — Naval Medical Center San Diego security is investigating a report that an armed man was spotted at the facility.
Spokesman Michael Wiener says the call came in around 7:30 a.m. Thursday and authorities are going room to room.
Chief Petty Officer Liz Murray says it was an anonymous call and the report remains unconfirmed.
The hospital posted on its Facebook page that no shots have been fired, staff are sheltering in place and employees and patients en route should not come to facility until the scene is cleared.
An active-shooter situation reported at the facility in January proved to be a false alarm.
The medical center is surrounded by 1,200-acre Balboa Park, which is home to museums, performing arts and recreational facilities as well as the San Diego Zoo.
