Pedestrian struck and killed in east Las Vegas
A 43-year-old woman was struck and killed by a car Tuesday night in east Las Vegas, police said.
Metropolitan Police Department Lt. David Gordon said at 11:13 p.m. the pedestrian was struck on Fremont Street, just north of Oakey Boulevard. Investigators believe the woman was in the road about 250 feet north of a marked crosswalk when she was struck by a 2018 Nissan Rogue, Metro said Wednesday afternoon.
The Nissan’s driver, a 58-year-old woman, remained at the scene of the crash and did not show signs of impairment, police said. The driver was not injured.
The pedestrian was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where she died, police said. Her death marked the 71st traffic-related fatality investigated by Metro this year.
The woman who died will be identified by the Clark County coroner’s office.
