Rapper Rick Ross, bodyguard face kidnapping, assault charges

LOS ANGELES — Rapper Rick Ross, whose real name is William Leonard Roberts II, was arrested in Fayette County, Ga., and charged with kidnapping, aggravated battery and aggravated assault on Wednesday morning.
“On June 7, 2015 the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office initiated an investigation regarding an assault which occurred at a residence on Highway 279 in Fayetteville, Ga,” a release from the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office says. “The investigation revealed William Roberts and Nadrian James as suspects responsible for the assault. On June 24, 2015, members of the U.S. Marshalls Southeastern Regional Task Force executed arrest warrants on William Roberts and Nadrian James. They were arrested in Fayetteville, Georgia without incident as a result of this investigation.”
James, his bodyguard, faces the same charges.
A U.S. Marshals Service fugitive task force and deputies arrested him at his mansion outside Atlanta.
Ross was arrested on marijuana charges in Fayette County earlier this month.
