South valley crash leaves 2 people in critical condition

A south valley crash left two people in critical condition Thursday night in an attempted hit-and-run, Las Vegas police said.

At 9:51 p.m., Metro responded to a call at the intersection of Maryland Parkway and Le Baron Avenue, where a motorcycle driving south crashed into a car that pulled in front of them, said Metro spokesman Patrick Charoen. The motorcycle driver and a passenger were taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center and are in critical condition, Charoen said.

The car took off, Charoen said, but was spotted “a short distance down the road” by officers. Nobody in the car was believed to be injured, Charoen said.

No additional information was available.
