Colorful Vegas, colorful prints

Colorful prints on breezy summer fabrics are a must-have this summer in Vegas.
These patterns are comfortable and amusing, and no matter what your preference, there’s a wide spectrum to choose from. Choices include botanical prints — with flowers, leaves and nature topics — checkered prints, ethnic-inspired patterns, dots, stripes, stars or any kind of geometric and abstract shape. Both high- and low-fashion brands came up with prints to feel fun in the sun.
Trisha Thompson, one of the models, said she felt “very comfortable in this colorful romper. I love the bohemian print and the way the colors play.” The young model paired it with neon bracelets and a flower headband that completed the outfit perfectly.
Embrace the trend. Don’t be afraid to try big patterns. Big and small prints can enhance body types. If you want a more casual look, go for a printed denim like the shorts Trisha is wearing on one of the shoots. You can never go wrong with printed denim, and it adds personality to the outfit. You can also mix fabrics that share a major color or play it safe by pairing a bolder print with a basic neutral. For example, our other model, Shelby Bay, chose a plain-white crop top and Middle Eastern printed shorts for more balance with great impact.
Each week, Zar Zanganeh, co-host of Valley View Live, and FashionTrend.Vegas editor Maria Cristina Matta-Caro talk about the fashion trend of the week with people in Las Vegas who get to show off their version of the trend and perhaps appear on the website and TV show.
The next trend is shorts. Las Vegas locals are welcome to participate and join FashionTrend.Vegas and the ABC crew on Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Downtown Summerlin Promenade.
