Pet dies in Monday morning house fire

One person is displaced and a pet is dead after a morning fire, officials say.

A two-story home near the intersection of Arville Street and Desert Inn Road caught fire in the garage about 6:12 a.m., Clark County fire department wrote in a release Monday.

No injuries were reported in the house fire, 3157 Arville Street. The Red Cross is assisting the displaced.

The cause of the fire and amount of damage is still being assessed, the release said.

Information about the deceased pet was not immediately available.
