It’ll be a hot and sunny weekend, with a chance of rain Tuesday

Temperatures during the beginning of the week should warm up the Las Vegas Valley, and remnants of Hurricane Blanca might bring rain Tuesday, the National Weather Service said.

With a high of 95 degrees on Sunday, meteorologist Chris Outler said, Las Vegas saw a nice and sunny day graced with light winds.

Dry conditions are expected to continue Monday, but weather should be a bit warmer as the temperature high is looking to be right around 100 degrees, meteorologist Jim Harrison said.

There will be a change of pace come Tuesday as moisture from Hurricane Blanca starts moving north. The hurricane formed off Mexico’s Pacific coast as a category 4 storm but weakened to a category 2 on Thursday.

An increase of clouds and a 25 percent chance of thunderstorms and showers are projected for a humid Tuesday afternoon, with a high of 95 degrees, Outler said.

The outlook for Wednesday will be about the same as another storm system will be making its way from the west, Harrison said.

The combination of the two storm systems make a significant change in the valley’s weather, but forecasters are not confident on just where in the valley it will hit.
