Vegas to warm up this weekend; rain possible in mountains

Hot and sunny weather is predicted in Las Vegas this weekend, with a chance of rain in the mountains, the National Weather Service said.

The week’s cool-down ends Friday as the Las Vegas Valley will reach a high of 89 degrees and a low of 67 degrees, according to the Weather Service.

Meteorologist Chris Stachelski said any chance for moisture is likely in Mount Charleston or near Pioche, about 180 miles north of Las Vegas.

Even more sunshine and dry weather is expected for Saturday and Sunday, he said.

Saturday should reach a high of 90 degrees, and Sunday’s high is expected to hit 96.
